Francis Ng’ang’a of Valley Road Motors is battling reputational damage after the owner of a Mercedes Benz sold to his son reported the matter to the police.
What began as a promising business deal between Nairobi executive car dealer Francis Ng’ang’a and a city car broker has now escalated into a legal dispute headed to court.
Mr Ng’ang’a, the proprietor of Valley Road Motors, is now battling reputational damage after the actual owner of a Mercedes Benz sold to his son reported the matter to the police.
On March 20, Mr Brandon Njoroge Ng’ang’a entered into an agreement with the broker identified in documents as Robert Mugaa. Mr Njoroge was to acquire the Mercedes Benz which was brought to their Valley Road showroom after conducting due diligence.
However, he is now staring at a Sh4 million loss after he surrendered the vehicle back to its rightful owner last week despite having completed all payments. He has since reported the matter to Nairobi Central Police Station where investigations are ongoing.
Earlier, on June 13, Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Renson Ingonga withdrew a case filed at the Makadara Law Courts in which Mr Ng’ang’a, his son Njoroge and Mr Mugaa were accused of conspiring to steal the Mercedes Benz S350 valued at Sh6.5 million and belonging to a city lawyer.
The DPP opted for an out-of-court settlement after being presented with documentation proving that Mr Njoroge had purchased the vehicle.
Previously, the Makadara court had issued arrest warrants for the trio after they failed to appear in court to face the charges. Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe had issued the warrants with court documents stating that the accused conspired to steal the vehicle on February 20, 2025, in Dandora, Kamukunji Sub-county.
