Sheriff John Stone fastens triple crown for racing rascals at Ngong

Jockey Rachel Venniker of South Africa leads Sheriff John Stone to victory in the Kenya Guineas at Ngong Racecourse on January 26, 2025.
Any uninitiated racegoer visiting Ngong, could be forgiven for wondering if Sheriff John Stone's accumulated 46.75 lengths in the Kenya Saint Leger, was normal procedure for a 2,800m tour.
There was no clever money being exchanged with lowest odds ever, of 1-20, but the sheer spectacle of Greatness, pumped inspiration to anyone planning a purchase for the Annual Yearling Sales. Trainer, Joe Karari, verified another treble when Act of Genius and Pedasos appeased.
The cool, calm, collected, charming, towering inferno, Sheriff John Stone (Lesley Sercombe), hallmarked an almost world record.
Australia's, Beaux Art logged 2:55:4/10, for 2,800m, in 1994. Our Sheriff clocked 2:57:00, on Sunday - sensational, especially when Swayze, Darling Me, and, Hindi Queen were nowhere to be seen.
Must be the longest distance accrued for Lesley, in her arrestingly sublime career - having also bounced the opening Question Time Handicap on Pinamar, by 25.4 lengths.
Wizza Ranch's, Bedford and Assured, fanned a decent one-two for Khay Runassi Bakor, in the Delamere Gold Vase George Drew Challenge Series.
