Harambee Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba on Friday named a 23-woman squad to face Morocco in an international friendly scheduled for Wednesday.

The match comes two months after Kenya’s double-header against Côte d'Ivoire in Abidjan, where Starlets lost both legs 2-0.

Odemba will use the upcoming fixture as a build-up for the final round of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers against The Gambia, slated for October 20 and 28 this year.

In the first round of the qualifiers in February, Starlets edged out Tunisia 1-0 on aggregate. The first leg ended in a goalless draw at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi on March 21, before Kenya claimed a 1-0 victory in the return leg played at Sousse Olympic Stadium in Tunisia.

The decisive goal was scored in the third minute by striker Tereza Engesha, who is not included in the current squad.

Among the notable call-ups is Kibera Soccer Women goalkeeper Vivian Shiyonzo, who impressed in the 2024/25 FKF Women Premier League season with 13 clean sheets.

Also returning to the national team are defender Leah Andiema, forward Tumaini Waliaula, midfielders Diana Wacera, Phoebe Aketch, and Martha Amunyolet. Team captain Dorcas Shikobe has also made a comeback after recovering from injury.
