After clinching their second consecutive Football Kenya Federation Women Premier League (FKF-WPL) title, Kenya Police Bullets head coach Beldine Odemba confirmed that the team’s focus now shifts to the upcoming CAF Women’s Champions League Cecafa qualifiers in August.

The Bullets sealed the league title yesterday with a dominant 4-0 win over Trinity Starlets at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru as the 2024/2025 season came to an end. The victory confirmed their place as Kenya’s representatives at the regional qualifiers.

“We have to improve the team tactically and strengthen all departments to perform well in the championship,” stated Odemba after the match.

Reflecting on the campaign, she added: “This season was more challenging than last, requiring us to fight until the end. The women's game is growing as is evident in the league. We were not under pressure to retain the league because we worked all season. It feels good to retain the league.”

The law enforcers topped the FKF-WPL standings with 46 points from 21 matches—registering 13 wins, seven draws, and just one loss.

It is unclear whether they will receive any prize money from FKF after only collecting the league title and medals. Last year, they awarded Sh1 million for winning their maiden league crown.

Last year, they reached the finals of the Caf Women’s Champions League Cecafa qualifiers in Ethiopia but narrowly lost 2-1 to defending champions Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE).

In yesterday’s decisive match against Trinity Starlets, midfielder Emily Moranga opened the scoring in the 44th minute, finishing off a long-range assist from striker Rebecca Okwaro.

A long pass from defender Leah Andiema in the 55th minute caused panic in the Trinity defence, resulting in an own goal by defender Major Merceline for Bullets’ second.

Okwaro then sealed the win in the 68th and 85th minutes, netting her 16th goal of the season to secure the league’s top scorer title.

Meanwhile, Ulinzi Starlets, Bullets' closest rivals, wrapped up their campaign in second place with 44 points after a commanding 4-0 win over Kisumu All Starlets at Ulinzi Sports Complex.

Siliya Rasoha opened the scoring in the 19th minute, followed by an own goal and a strike from Fasilah Adhiambo in the 31st minute. Defender Margaret Odiro added the fourth in the 79th minute.

Earlier at Afraha Stadium, Kayole Starlets—champions of the National Women Super League (NWSL) Zone A—were crowned overall NWSL winners after a 3-0 victory over Zone B champions Soccer Assassins in the playoff final.

Chalovu Sarah struck in the third minute, while Shalyne Otieno added a brace to complete the win.
Kayole Starlets (50 points), Soccer Assassins (45 points), and Gideon Starlets—who edged Bandari Queens 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw—have been promoted to the FKF-WPL.
