Kenya's top shooter Ibrahim Ndung'u eyes more glory in 2025

What you need to know:

  • Ndung'u used the championship to prepare for the Africa IDPA championship which will be held in Mombasa Bamburi Rifle Club this February, Extreme Euro Open in Czech Republic in June and World Handgun Championship in South Africa in September, where he will be participating together with his 16-year-old daughter, Mariam Ibrahim.

Kenya's top shooter Master Ibrahim Ndung'u won two gold medals during the IPSC Grand Rifle Shooting Championships at Kirigiti Shooting Range in Kiambu County.

Ndung'u was the overall performance winner and was followed by Geoffrey Pesa, who won silver as ⁠Jasmeer Syan settled for bronze. In the semi-automatic open rifle category, Ibrahim Ndung'u won gold as Geoffrey Pesa
and ⁠Jasmeer Syan won silver and bronze medals respectively. 

"I'm glad I have emerged the overall winner it was not easy but I did my best and I look forward to win as many medal as I can at the national and international championships," Ibrahim Ndung'u told Nation Sport.

Ndung'u used the competition to prepare for the Africa IDPA Championship, which will be held in Mombasa Bamburi Rifle Club this February, Extreme Euro Open in Czech Republic in June and World Handgun Championship in South Africa in September, where he will be participating together with his 16-year-old daughter, Mariam Ibrahim.

Meanwhile in the Ladies category, Agnes Muchiri won gold, Silvia Kinya went home with silver as ⁠Husna Ramadhan finished the podium places with a bronze medal.
