Master Ibrahim Ndung'u shines in IDPA African event

Master Ibrahim Ndung’u in action during the 2025 IDPA Africa Continental Shooting Championship held at the Bamburi Rifle Club in Mombasa County.

  • The two-day championship attracted shooters from Russia, Austria, Pakistan, the USA, and hosts Kenya, making it a highly competitive event.

Kenya’s top shooter, Master Ibrahim Ndung’u, emerged as the overall winner of the 2025 IDPA Africa Continental Shooting Championship held at the Bamburi Rifle Club in Mombasa County.

Ndung’u showcased his exceptional skills by also securing two gold medals in the PCC Master category and PCC Division High.

“I am very happy to be the overall winner. I had prepared very well before this championship. I will continue to work hard and fly the Kenyan flag higher,” said Ndung’u.

With this victory, Ndung’u now sets his sights on upcoming international competitions, including the Extreme Euro Open in the Czech Republic in June and the World Handgun Championship in South Africa in September.

Meanwhile, Master Sammy Onyango claimed victory in the Carry Optic Division category, Russia’s Chutkov emerged as the ESP Overall winner, while Mohamed Aden of Kenya Police secured the SPD Overall title.

In the ladies' categories, Elizabeth Cherono won the Optic High title, while Agnes Muchiri of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) claimed the Ladies Iron High title.
